The first FM Rock mix, partially inspired by a previous Narrowcast (Pop Before Pepper). I thought it might be interesting to make a unbiased snapshot of what may have been heard if the radio dial was tuned into an American rock station at a particular point in time. I chose May '77 merely because it was a 40 years ago kind of thing. While I was researching and prepping for this mix, I got the notion that perhaps it'd be even more interesting to chart the progress of rock radio from its infancy, but it was after I made this mix that I realized I should start at the beginning instead of popping into the middle of it all! But at least this mix will give an idea of where I'm heading with the series - it might take me a bit to catch back up to '77, but I do intend to go well past this into the 80's and 90's.
