US Top 20 Singles: w/e July 18, 1987

Three hits from this 30th anniversary week's chart were harvested from the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack; Bob Seger's "Shakedown", George Michael's "I Want Your Sex" and The Jets' "Cross My Broken Heart". Four more songs were covers; Surface's version of Hi-Tension's "You Make Me Happy" (here with a shortened title), The Nylon's cover of Steam's "Kiss Him Goodbye" (also shortened by nixing the original title's Na Na Hey Hey bit), Pseudo Echo's update of Lipps, Inc.'s "Funkytown", and Heart giving I-Ten's 1983 song "Alone" its biggest success.

Motley Crue have a rare distinction with "Girls Girls Girls" as it is now their second chart hit to use its band members names in the lyrics - however, "Smokin' In The Boys Room" named all four members, but "Girls Girls Girls" only namechecks Vince and Tommy. ;)
